For a comfortable tour experience, a maximum of only 16 people are allowed in a tour group.  The wait for the start of the next tour is outdoors.  The wait time, between tours, is around 10 minutes or less, but on busy days, the wait could be a bit longer.  Please dress accordingly for the weather.  Thank you!

Tours are approximately 25-30 minutes in length.

Harnessed and leashed service animals allowed.

Large group (motor coach) reservations are recommended.

The Grant Home is closed on New Year's, Martin Luther King, Jr., President's, General Election, Thanksgiving and Christmas Days.  For more information call 815/777-3310.  The Grant Home is located at 500 Bouthillier Street in Galena, Illinois.

The Washburne House is open every Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. from May through October.  Guided tours are given by The International Order of Questers, Galena Belles Chapter 1304.  For more information call 815/777-3310.  The Washburne House is located at 908 Third Street in Galena, Illinois.

    President Ulysses S. Grant Home, Congressman Elihu B. Washburne Home, several parks and neighborhood homes near the Grant Home and The Old Market House Welcome Center on Commerce Street are all part of the U.S. Grant Historic Sites. These sites are part of the 58 state-owned historic sites and memorials administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
